More Valentine's Day Treats

I promised to post photos of my latest Valentine's Day treats, so here they are.

First, these chocolates from Karen Britton.  Karen is a UK artisan who is getting better and better.  I love the arrangement of these lovelies on the board.  And the scale is really perfect--the chocolates are barely 1/8th of an inch.

Karen also made this chocolate box filled with chocolates.  Aren't they pretty?

And some pretty Valentine cookies...

Across the Pond from Karen, my dear friend Luce Fediere is making the most adorable French treats for St. Valentin.  The lollipops are darling, and the sugared almonds are absolutely teeny-tiny.  And the calissons are a lovely pastel pink, as is the icing on the cookies.

In fact, I so loved these that I bought Luce's Valentine's display as well, just so I would have doubles of some of my favorites plus some new things like the pink and white guimuavres (marshmallow twists).  I am a bad girl.

Happy Valentine's Day!

  4. Ray, thanks for noticing my photo. I'm such a privacy freak that I have avoided one until now. This was taken at my youngest son's graduation last May; it was such a happy occasion!

As to photographs, I let the camera do the work. I'm still using my Canon SD 940 IS that I got a Costco several years ago. What I find best is to point at the object, press the button part-way down, then look to see if I am getting the word "auto" or the symbol for macro (flower). Sometimes it takes a few seconds for it to change. If it doesn't, I do it again until I see the flower or I move closer to the object until I do, then I shoot the picture. Don't know if that helps, but it's what I do. xo,
    Sophia
